Anemones are common in Fijian waters and that allowed ample subjects to photograph. They usually grow in clusters and will have several anemone fish around which probably enhances reproduction. What is really amazing though that in nature there are nearly 1000 species of anemones but only 10 host anenomefishes! There are 28 species of anenomefishes and they will only find refuge with specific types of anemones in the wild. Another fact is how much we truly do not know about anemones.
This anemone is probably of the species Heteractis Crispa and has tentacles about 4 inches long and can grow to a diameter of about 20 inches. H. Crispa plays host to 14 different species of anenomefish. This particular anemone is close to that size and his hosting the Fijian variation of the anenomefish, Amphiprion Melanopus, which is also know as the Red and Black Anenomefish. In Fiji A. Melanopus often do not display any black markings on their body and can resemble another species!
Nemo? Limited Edition
This is a Limitied Edition of 75 aluminum prints. Only 75 will be printed of all sizes!
The prints include an aluminum edge mount in eithe a .75" or 1.25" depth and are available in black or silver. On this image I prefer the black and I recommend .75" depth for the 8"x12" and 11"x17" and the 1.25" for 16"x20" or larger sizes. I think those sizes look more proportional to the print, but you can customize those options.
You can also request a specific number if it is available.
I do not recommend a wire hanger for these images. I would recommend a Hilman Hanging system or something similar. I can send a link
Image is printed on aluminum. The aluminum brings out the colors of these images like no other medium.
The image may be cropped to fit the print size that you want, but will keep the essance of the photograph seen above. If you would like to see what that looks like before purchase email email@example.com, and a proof will be sent to you through email.
All prints come with a Certificate of Authenticity signed by the artist that tells the backstory of the photograph. This should be kept with the print, and transfered with the print if sold.
Prints have a UV resistant coating. This makes them extremely durable and waterproof. They fair well outdoors, but will eventually fade with prolonged exposure to the sun.
The prints can be cleaned with water or a mild window cleaner and a soft cloth.
